Privacy Policy

How we handle data responsibly and transparently.

Last updated: 15 September 2025Applies to: Guava Platform, Guavagram, related services

1. Introduction

We believe in transparency above all else. This policy outlines exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We built Guava to help restaurants thrive, not to monetize their private information. We do not sell your customer data or use it for third-party advertising purposes without your explicit consent.

2. Definitions

To make this document as clear as possible, here is how we define certain key terms:

  • The PlatformRefers to the Guava restaurant operating system, including the POS, kitchen display systems, and back-office dashboard.
  • Customer DataInformation related to the end-users (diners) of your restaurant, such as order history and contact details.
  • Business DataOperational data generated by your restaurant, such as sales reports, inventory levels, and employee schedules.

3. Data We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide our services effectively. This data generally falls into two categories:

3.1 Business Data

This includes your restaurant's menu items, pricing, inventory stock levels, floor plans, and employee shift records. We process this data to power your daily operations.

3.2 Personal Data

When you or your staff create accounts, we collect names, email addresses, and role information. If you use our reservation or loyalty features, we may store diner names and phone numbers on your behalf.

Important: No Hidden Tracking

Guava does not track your browsing activity across other websites. We do not sell customer data or use it for advertising networks.

4. How We Use Data

Your data is used exclusively to deliver and improve the Guava experience. Specific use cases include:

  • Processing transactions and payments securely.
  • Generating analytics reports to help you understand your business performance.
  • Sending transactional notifications (e.g., digital receipts, reservation confirmations).
  • Providing customer support and troubleshooting technical issues.

5. AI & Automation

We use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist restaurant operations, not to replace human decision-making. Our "Smart Inventory" and "Auto-Scheduling" features provide recommendations which you must approve.

What we do

Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve model accuracy for all users. Provide explainable recommendations.

What we don't do

We never train public AI models on your private business data or proprietary recipes. No silent automation actions.

6. Your Rights

You retain full ownership of your data. Regardless of your location, we extend these core rights to all Guava users:

Right to Access

You can request a copy of all personal and business data we hold about you at any time.

Right to Delete

You may request the permanent deletion of your account and associated data ("Right to be Forgotten").

Right to Export

We support open standards. You can export your menu, sales, and customer data in CSV or JSON formats easily.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our privacy team at [email protected].

7. Security Measures

We employ enterprise-grade security to protect your information. This includes encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), regular third-party penetration testing, and strict access controls for Guava employees.
